Memorial Day 2018
Monday, May 28
A day to stop.
A day to stop and remember those who fight and those who have fought for the freedoms that we hold so dear. They fight for justice, they fight for right!

It seems that everywhere I turn I hear the word JUSTICE. To be honest, I know it is there. Yet, all I hear about is the crime. The sorrow. The sadness.

Did our loved ones fight, being wounded and falling dead, for nothing?

The overwhelming evil penetrates each of our lives. Here in the USA we walk around in the presence of a shadow. A shadow of what life 'should' look like, of what we know life 'should be.'

You've heard it, I've heard it. The frustration in the bleating cries of the school children, the confusion and hysteria of the concert audiences, the anguish of the city mothers as they bury one more of their children off the streets. There is no one segment of our population to blame. It is a cancer growing up out of the souls of the savage.

I am asking, "When will it end?"

"How can it continue?"

"Why can't people just stop doing bad and evil and horror? Just do what is right!

Are you?

Yet one of the proofs of God's existence bubbles up in this frustration.

Have you ever thought that maybe we cry out for the goodness because somewhere deep down within us we know there is goodness to be found? God's goodness.

For you see, how could we know there 'should be' something other than all this evil, if we didn't have within our souls a God-Shaped-Void crying out for Justice and Honor and Goodness and Peace? The very essence of the Great God who IS.

Justice has been sought for thousands of years. The bible screams out for it. The very purpose of Jesus Christ's birth, life, death and resurrection is to bring JUSTICE for His Creation and offer His Kingdom and eternity to our souls.

In the old and ancient scriptures they were seeking justice. Read these ancient writings that are applicable to our own time and culture:

Psalms 50:6
The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge.

Isaiah 1:17
Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless; plead for the widow's case.

Psalm 58:11
Mankind will say, "Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges the earth.

Isaiah 61:8
For I the LORD love justice; I hate robbery and wrong; I will faithfully give them their recompense, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

There are more, but I will end with these last three.

Micah 6:8
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Romans 12:19
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."

1. Thus says the LORD; Keep justice, do and use righteousness (conformity to the will of God which brings salvation), for My salvation is soon to come and My righteousness (My righteousness and justice) to be revealed.
2. Blessed, happy, and fortunate is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold of it and binds himself fast to it, who keeps sacred the Sabbath so as not to profane it and keeps his hand from doing evil.
3. Let not the foreigner who has joined himself to the Lord say, "The Lord will surely separate me from His people." And let not the eunuch say, "Behold, I am a dry tree."
4. For this says the Lord: "To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths and choose the things which please Me and hold firmly My covenant ⏤
5. To them I will give in My house and within My walls a memorial and a name better [and more enduring] than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that will not be cut off.
6. Also the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord to minister to Him and to love the name of the Lord and to be His servants, everyone who keeps the Sabbath so as not to profane it and who holds My covenant [by conscientious obedience] ⏤
7. All these I will bring to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer.
Isaiah 56:1-7 Amplified Bible

With these verses sprinkled throughout the bible, we hear God saying: "Keep doing what is right, even when others do what is wrong."

Looking into the future can be bleak.

If it were not for the reality of the miraculous truth of God,  who is Mercy and Justice in one, where would we be? Lost. Forever Lost.

Praise God for He comes to avenge. He sees the lives that have been laid down for our country. He sees the hearts that have been damaged for our wounded. He knows and He WILL bring all heaven and earth into just and right and good and purity once again.

And until that day...

May I be aware of what I can do in my community to relieve those who are hungry and weak and weary.
Until that day upon His return.

God never forgets. Within Him our loved ones sacrifices are remembered for eternity.

So Memorial Days are held in His hands.

I myself remember my father today. Who do you remember? Leave a comment.

Because He IS the I Am, i am,

Touching Base ⏤ Vol 2, Ch 17

After a long trip into my childhood state down south, I return to our little home. My hubby and I are very happy to be back together. My mother is much better and I am trying to return to a regular sleep schedule.

Isn't it interesting how family changes over time.

I am blessed to know that my family members are all believers. We all love God.

But right now, we are in a hard place. I'm reminded of Job.

Remember how he chided Mrs. Job after his health was attacked by Satan?

Here are the verses that might jog your memory:

"Satan replied to the LORD, "Skin for skin! A man will give up everything he has to save his life. But reach out and take away his health, and he will surely curse you to your face!"
"All right, do with him as you please," The LORD said to Satan. "But spare his life."
So Satan left the LORD'S presence, and he struck Job with terrible boils from head to foot.

Job scraped his skin with a piece of broken pottery as he sat among the ashes. His wife said to him, "Are you still trying to maintain your integrity? Curse God and die."

But Job replied, "You talk like a foolish woman. Should we accept only good things from the hand of God and never anything bad?" So in all this, Job said nothing wrong.
Job 2:4-10 NLT

We here in this little family are all trying to figure out how to stand in solidarity against Satan in this trial.

I know what I am called to. It is not easy, but it is the wisest and the best for mine and others health.

And now we move and grow and stand and change and live and trust God.

May you find your strength in the knowledge that God is in the midst of the good and the hard things of life. He does not leave us alone. He knows what pain we are able to handle and He is worthy to be trusted.

Be strong in the LORD. It might look dim, but know that He is with you.

Love Him in the midst of the darkness. Love others in the midst of the trial.

Let us know in the comments below how life is rough, or tough, or good and jolly. We want to praise His name with you.
"The LORD gives and the LORD takes away. Praise the name of the LORD!" Job 1:21 NLT

Because He is the I AM, i am

Family Matters shows how family matters -— Vol 2, Ch 16

I sang a song to my 90 year old mom on Saturday night. She was curled up on a hospital bed in pain.
I love my mom. I love my sisters. They matter to me.

She fell earlier in this past month of April. She and my sister were planning on calling the exterminator due to wood cock roaches slipping into her home from the National Forest that her land back into.

It was midnight, she was traveling for her midnight restroom break, and one of those suckers jiggled across her bathroom floor.

I was not there, however, I can just imagine how vehemently she responded to the call to destroy the little guy! All 4’10” of my spunky mom set out for the kill. She swished a shoe from her closet and went after it.

Being that she was not in shoes, her feet slipped out from underneath her and she landed on her right shoulder and her backside. That would be bad enough , but the final blow to her pride came when she realized she was sitting in a puddle of blood created by a compound fracture of tibia and fibula in her right leg!
I say pride because this choice resulted in her losing her lifelong brag of never having been in the hospital for anything other than the births of her. Four children. Consequences of this choice caused a chain of unfortunate events.
1. First Ambulance ride
2. First hospital stay
3. First rehab stay (6+ weeks)
4. First return to ER because of infection

the list goes on.

We are all here. All of her four daughters. We’ve rallied around her. We love her. Those of us that flew left our spouses to stay for awhile. Those of us that live in the area have struggled through responsibility shiftings.

we are sharing the task of someone being with her every minute of this ordeal. We don’t want her waking up and not knowing where she is. Life at 90 is scary enough.
and yet, it gets more difficult.

Trusting God is mom’s legacy.

Today she is trusting God. She openly admits this is too hard for her. And it is. But is is not too hard for her Abba. She can do this through him.

We don’t know what the end result of this time is...
but we do know that when the rough roads hit family matters.

The family matters that can drive a wedge, can be healed. The family matters that can cause confusion and fear can and do make us face our belief systems.
Ours has been sorely tested and given the go ahead by God to know that Fmily Matters.

Ill be helping my family for as long as I am able to be away from my other responsibilities — so, unfortunately not as long as I’m needed. But as long as I can.

I’ll be back on my Sometime on Monday duty of blog posting as soon as I’m back.

Be blessed.

And remember Family matters sometimes remind you that FamilyMatters!
