  • Begin with asking God to open your heart to what He has for you to hear today.
  • Read a passage of the Scripture
  • Is a miracle in the passage? Is a relationship deepened in some way? Has God stepped in and shown His power,
  • Has he shown His discipline or even His protection or His end goal?
  • Has Jesus, lived life, shown love, or taught?
  • Whatever the passage holds that brings you an awareness of who He is, praise Him for that revelation.
  • Give Him glory and honor and praise. Thank Him for what He has given.
  • Think on these things. Ponder them. Reread the passage. Write about what you read. Pray! This is Worship!
  • Thank God for His presence this moment.

1. Now, dear brothers and sisters, let us clarify some things about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we will be gathered to meet him.
2. Don't be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don't believe them, even if they claim to have had spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us.
3. Don't be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed — the one who brings destruction.
4. He will exalt himself and defy everything that people will call good and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.

5. Don't you remember that I told you about all this when I was with you?
6. And you know what is holding him back, for he can be revealed only when his time comes.
7. For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way.
8. Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will kill him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming.

9. This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles.
10. He will use every kind of destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.
11. So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies.
12. Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 NLT

3. Dear brothers and sisters, we can't help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.
4. We proudly tell God's other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering.
5. And God will use this persecution to show his justice and to make you worthy of his Kingdom, for which you are suffering.
6. In his justice he will pay back those who persecute you.

7. And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels,
8. in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don't know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus.
9. They will be punished and eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power.
10. When he comes on that day, he will receive glory from his holy people — praise from all who believe. And this includes you, for you believed what we told you about him.

11. So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do.
12. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you  will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.

29th Strategy.
Called to Evaluate Our Choices

© RR&BC, LLC 2020

  • Enter your time with the LORD in prayer.
  • Read the entire passage.
  • Does the passage call for an evaluation of choices made? If so, stop and re-read that section one time.
  • Continue through the entire passage.
  • After reading the passage through one time, go back and re-read the section calling for an evaluation.
  • Would the choices you are facing in your life today be similar to the choices in the passage.
  • Write them down on a sticky note, or underline them in your bible.
  • Whatever you are being prompted to evaluate, write it down. (This will be a great source of strength for years to come.)
  • Take these choices to the LORD. Ask Him to give you clarity on how to move forward.
  • Tell Him you desire to make wise choices and you know you need His guidance.
  • Ask God to broaden your vision for the passage.
  • Thank Him for His guidance and praise Him for His words.
  • (I encourage you to write down what God shows you.)

8. "Everything is meaningless," says the Teacher, "completely meaningless."

9. Keep this in mind: The Teacher was considered wise, and he taught the people everything he knew. He listened carefully to many proverbs, studying and classifying them.
10. The Teacher sought to find just the right words to express truths clearly.

11. The words of the wise are like cattle prods — painful but helpful. Their collected sayings are like a nail-studded stick with which a shepherd drives the sheep.

12. But, my child, let me give you some further advice: Be careful, for writing books is endless, and much study wears you out.

13. That's the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone's duty.
14. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.
Ecclesiastes 12:8-14 NLT

1. Don't let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, "Life is not pleasant anymore."
2. Remember him before the lights of the sun, moon, and stars is dim to your old eyes, and rain clouds continually darken your sky.
3. Remember him before your legs — the guards of your house — start to tremble; and before your shoulders — the strong men — stoop. Remember him before your teeth — your few remaining servants — stop grinding; and before your eyes — the women looking through the windows — see dimly.

4. Remember him before the door to life's opportunities is closed and the sound of work fades. Now you rise at the first chirping of the birds, but then all their sounds will grow faint.

5. Remember him before you become fearful of failing and worry about danger in the street; before your hair turns white like an almond tree in bloom, and you drag along without energy like a dying grasshopper, and the caperberry no longer inspires sexual desire. Remember him before you near the grave, your everlasting home, when the mourners will weep at your funeral.

6. Yes, remember your Creator now while you are young, before the silver cord of life snaps and the golden bowl is broken. Don't wait until the water jar is smashed at the spring and the pulley is broken at the well.
7. For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

3.

9th strategy.
Read and summarize each verse into as few
words as you can. Goal 1 or 2 words.

  • Begin by asking Jesus to cleanse your heart to hear what He has for you to hear.
  • Read the passage completely.
  • After reading through the first time, go back and read the first verse in the passage.
  • Then try to narrow the focus of the verse down to one or two words.
  • Write those words down either on a piece of paper, or on your text messages on your phone.
  • Read the 2nd verse and do the same thing.
  • Complete all the verses in the passage.
  • Sign and date the page in your journal, or send the text message to yourself.
  • Review these words throughout the day.
  • Thank Jesus for the words that He gave you to bring you closer to Him through this day.

7. Light is sweet; how pleasant to see a new day dawning.

8. When people live to be very old, let them rejoice in every day of life. But let them also remember there will be many dark days. Everything still to come is meaningless.

9. Young people, it's wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do.
10. So refuse to worry and keep your body healthy, but remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless.
Ecclesiastes 11:7-10 NLT
