15th strategy.
Imagine

  • Prepare your heart - that means ask Him to open you to be able to listen well.
  • Ask Jesus to bring you into the very presence of God Himself as you read instructions
  • Imagine the characters in this passage.
  • Are they facing a large enemy? or a challenge?
  • Have they followed God? or have they fled from His guidance?
  • Are they trusting God?
  • Are they experiencing pain, or loss?
  • Imagine them as friends.
  • What would you do if you were there beside them?
  • Would you be willing to encourage them?
  • What would you do if you were experiencing their story?
  • Who would you turn to for guidance? God? A mentor? Satan?
  • Ask God to show you how to lean on Him in times of attack, or challenge.
  • Thank God for His presence with you right now.

10. When the apostles returned, they told Jesus everything they had done. Then he slipped quietly away with them toward the town of Bethsaida.
11. But the crowds found out where he was going, and they followed him. He welcomed them and taught them about he Kingdom of God, and he healed those who were sick.

12. Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said, "Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place."
13. But Jesus said,
"You feed them."
"But we have only five loaves of bread and two fishes," they answered. "Or are you expecting us to go ad buy enough food for this whole crowd?"
14. For there were about 5,000 men there.

Jesus replied, "Tell them to sit down in groups of about fifty each."
15. So the people all sat down.
16.Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people.
17. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afteward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of lefovers!
Luke 9:10-17 NLT

Plenty.
The disciples are fishermen. They are aware of scarce days.
By here our sweet Jesus is teaching us about plenty.

There are several places he has brought me through in my lifetime. Some places of scarcity stand out in my memory. But there are also many times he opened the floodgates of heaven and poured out abundance. I, like the disciples, was not expecting, nor could I grasp, what had happened in these blessings of abundance.
He is my provider. He holds that place himself and doesn’t give it over to me. So in this morning when I have been just a tad over indulgent with children and grandchildren He whispers to me. “I’ve been here all along!” The abundance is His to give and as I spread a little cheer. Of which I’ve never done so loosely before, he is patient with me picking up the loaves of extra. I will stop in amazement at the miracle of my life right now, just as the disciples and multitudes did.
