114.

 Provided for Forty Years

1.

Today's Passage: Deuteronomy 2:2-7

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the chapter NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

12. "Then at last the LORD said to me,
3. 'You have been wandering around in this hill country long enough; turn to the north.
4. Give these orders to the people: "You will pass through the country belonging to your relatives the Edomites, the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. The Edomites will feel threatened, so be careful.
5. Do not bother them, for I have given them all the hill country around Mount Seir as their property, and I will not give you even one square foot of their land.
6. If you need food to eat or water to drink, pay them for it.
7. For the Lord your God has blessed you in everything you have done. He has watched your every step through this great wilderness. During these forty years, the LORD your God has been with you, and you have lacked nothing."'
Deuteronomy 2:2-7

2nd Strategy: WORSHIP

  • Begin with asking God to open your heart to what He has for you to hear today.
  • Read a passage of the Scripture
  • Is a miracle in the passage? Is a relationship deepened in some way? Has God stepped in and shown His power, His love, or even His protection of His end goal? Has Jesus, lived life, shown love, or taught?
  • Whatever the passage holds that brings you an awareness of who He is, praise Him for that revelation. Give Him glory and honor and praise. Thank Him for what He has given.
  • Think on these things. Ponder them. Reread the passage. Write about what you read. Pray! This is one way to Worship!

Father,
I know You lead us through deserts.
You lead us through pleasant meadows.
You lead us and bring us on our way.
Let us see you in our day today.
Bring us closer to You.
Open our hearts.
Open our minds.
Open our lives.
in your precious name
Jehoshu
a
Amen

Has God come on and shown his power?
Yes.
I have thought about this verse all day.
For forty years he had provided for the Israelites.
But this is me now.
I praise Him this night as I know that He has provided for me in ways I cannot even count for over 40 years.
I have been reminded today of his provision and his presence.
In the last few months I find myself in this place of gratitude that is deeper than words can describe.
We are held tightly by this God who satisfies.
I know I have many moments that I hear His words of peace.
Sometimes my heart wakes in the night with songs or praises. My requests are heard and answered in his timing. I can trust him in that. He has proved himself time and time again. I love him so much. He is continually with me and I will lack nothing.
