1186.

1. The Ax Head Recovered

Today's Passage: 2 Kings 6:1-7

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

2.
Invite God to join you in your reading and ask Him for wisdom.
If there is anything in your spirit hindering you, confess it now.
It is okay, He knows it anyway. Bring it to Him and ask Him for help, remember you are already forgiven, as Him to help you as you embrace that truth and live it out.

a prayer:
Thank You for meeting me, LORD.

I welcome you into this place.
Please prepare my heart Jehovah.
Thank you, Omnipotent God for insight.

30th Strategy.
Are Miracles Involved?
  • Enter your time with the LORD in prayer.
  • Read the entire passage.
  • If there is a miracle in the passage, stop and re-read it.
  • Continue through the entire passage.
  • After reading the passage through one time, go back and find the part/parts describing the miracle in the passage.
  • Read two verses or more before the miracle of the passage.
  • Read two verses or more after the miracle of the passage.
  • In re-reading the verses surrounding the miracle of the passage, did you find a conflict occurring because of the miracle?
  • If you did, write down the conflict. What brings this conflict up. Is it due to people? People in power? People in darkness? People in anger? Ask God to allow you to ponder the reasons given for the conflict.
  • If you did not find conflict, ask yourself if you yourself would have been convinced by the miracle.
  • Do you see miracles and pass them by?
  • Ask God to broaden your vision for the miracles in your world.
  • Thank Him for His guidance and praise Him for His words.

1. One day the group of prophets came to Elisha and told him, "As you can see, this place where we meet with you is too small.
2. Let's go down to the Jordan River, where there are plenty of logs. There we can build a new place for us to meet."

"All right," he told them, "go ahead."
3 "Please come with us," someone suggested.
"I will," he said.
4. So he went with them.
When they arrived at the Jordan, they began cutting down trees.
5. But as one of them was cutting a tree, his ax head fell into the river. "Oh sir!" he cried. "It was a borrowed ax!"

6. "Where did it fall? the man of God asked. When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it into the water at the spot. Then the ax head floated to the surface.
7." Grab it," Elisha said. And the man reached out and grabbed it.
2 Kings 6:1-7 NLT
