The Resurrection Body

Today's Passage: 1 Corinthians 15:40-50

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

40. There are also bodies in the heavens and bodies on the earth.
The glory of the heavenly bodies is  different from the glory of the earthly bodies.
41. The sun has one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another kind.
And even the  stars differ from each other in their glory.

42. It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead.
Our earthly bodies are planted in the  ground  when we die,
but they will be raised to live forever.
43. Our bodies are buried in brokenness,
but they will be raised in glory.
They are buried in  weakness,
but they will be raised in strength.
44. They are buried as natural human bodies,
but they will be raised as spiritual bodies.
For just as   there are natural bodies,
there are also spiritual bodies.

45. The Scriptures tell us,
"The first man, Adam, became a living person."
But the last Adam⏤that is,  Christ⏤is a life-giving Spirit.
46. What comes first is the natural body,
then the spiritual body comes later.

47. Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth,
while Christ, the second man, came  from heaven.
48. Earthly people are like the earthly man,
and heavenly people are like the heavenly man.
49. Just as we are now like the earthly man,
we will someday be like the heavenly man.

50. What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters,
is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God.
These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.
1 Corinthians 15 40-50 NLT

10th strategy. Read, Compare and Contrast.

  • Open your heart. Begin with cleansing and asking God to prompt you to hear Him.
  • Read the passage.
  • Are there two things being written about throughout the passage.
  • If so, read through the passage completely.
  • On a piece of paper (or one your computer) label two columns with the two themes you found in the passage.
  • Read through the passage and write the points of the each of the themes.
  • After reading and listing the themes points, compare and contrast them.
  • Does this give you any more understanding of the words that God has given us?
  • Take your findings to God and ask Him to give you understanding of these points.
  • Share any thoughts in our community that might be  glorifying to God
3.

Father,
Your words give us insight into the world
and into what is beyond.
Thank you for allowing us to know
there is more to our world than what we see.
But with all there is, thank you for assuring us that you are enough.
We praise You God for Your orchestration of this life and beyond.
We Bless Your Name.
Give us rest in You.
Jehoshua, In YOU
Amen

There is more.

Walking deep into my autumn years I recognize my inability to do what I was able to do just a few years ago.

In wisdoms way- I must draw more lines around my days.

But knowing there is more ignites my soul if not my body.

Yes, I move within a smaller radius than I did in Germany.
My physical world is drawn closer instead of wider.

But with the entry into this stage I fear nothing of the heavenly side.

I look forward with anticipation in seeing Jesus fully before me.

He has been whispering in my ear to wrap this earthly body in His grace and embrace it in its brokenness. Embrace the weakness.

Bring the wonder of it all to the Second Adam and brace my days with full abandon not hesitation. I find His glory in the mystery.

Take my life LORD.
Take my days.
Use me for the pure joy of knowing I desire to be your woman.
You have my days ordained.
Help me to build into them instead of rail against them.
