Robyn's Bible Reading Strategies Applied
190. Taken from the Longest Chapter Of the Bible No Proof of When It Is Written Meditations and Prayers To Admire and Rely on God's Word 1. Today's Passage: Psalm 119:1-8 Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend. Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here. You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages. Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the New Living Testament (NLT). Dearest Abba, Let us stop for a few seconds and settle. Remove outside forces, no matter where we are. Let us enter into your Words completely. Prepare us to hear what you want us to hear. Clear our minds and cleanse our hearts. In our sweet Jesus' holy name, Yeshua, we ask this Amen. An Aside: Suspected to be written by King David. An acrostic poem, one of several in the bible. Longest chapter in the bible. 176 verses divided into 22 stanzas Each stanza beginning with a character of the Hebrew alphabet. Aleph. 1. How blessed are those whose way is blameless, Who walk in the law of the LORD 2. How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart. 3. They also do no unrighteousness; They walk in His ways. 4. Thou hast ordained Thy precepts, That we should keep them diligently. 5.Oh that my ways may be established To keep Thy statutes! 6. Then I shall not be ashamed When I look upon all Thy commandments. 7. I shall give thanks to Thee with uprightness of heart. When I learn Thy righteous judgments. 8. I shall keep Thy statutes; Do not forsake me utterly! Psalm 119: 1-8 NASB 2. 1st strategy is taken from the ancients - Lectio Divina
