The Wedding at Cana

1.

Today's Passage: John 2:1-12

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

2.

Thank You for meeting me, LORD.
I welcome you into this place.
Please prepare my heart Jehovah.
Thank you for insight.

The Wedding at Cana

1. The next day there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there,
1. and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration.
3. The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus' mother told him, "They have no more wine."

4. "Dear woman, that's not our problem," Jesus replied. "My time has not yet come."

5. But his mother told the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."

6. Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing.
Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons.
7. Jesus told the servants, "Fill the jars with water." When the jars had been filled,
8. he said, "Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies." So the servants followed his instructions.

9. When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over.
10. "A host always serves the best wine first," he said, "Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!"

11. This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

12 After the wedding he went to Capernaum for a few days with his mother, his brothers, and his disciples.
John 2: 1-12 NLT

You might find another that fits your need or calls to your heart.
Follow that.
Would appreciate it if you would share how and why you switched
and what God shared with you from His Word.

19th strategy.
Asking Questions About the Passage and How the Passage Changes Me.

  • Ask God to join you in your thoughtful questioning.
  • A message from the LORD.
  • Who is sending the message and to whom?
  • Why?
  • When?
  • What will happen?
  • How will this effect the people involved?
  • How does this prophecy effect me?
  • What does this message prove about who God is?
  • Think about the protection of God for His people.
  • Think about the protection of God for you.
  • Pray. Don't forget to thank God for His revelations that might come later. But trust that they will come.

4.

Thank you for coming today.
Please leave your initials and a comment.

And remember,
I pray for you every day.
And I will be back here tomorrow,
I hope I will see you here too.

Who : Jesus, Mary, Servants, Master of Ceremonies, Bridegroom, Disciples, Jesus’ brothers

Why? I wonder if Jesus’ perfect plan entailed us getting to know Him more like a neighbor.

Here He acquiesces to His mom. I know I myself would do what my mom wanted me to do and I am 61.
I think Jesus wants all those watching and also us how His relationship was with His mother and disciples and brothers.

When: before Jesus’ time to perform miracles but He did this for His mother and the bridal pair.

How does this effect the people?
• Jesus got to she us how important mom’s are.
• Mary was able to serve her neighbors
• Servants got to witness a miracle
• Master of Ceremonies has a good story to tell about the bridegroom
• Bridegroom got a blessing
• Disciples first time to see Jesus’ glory. They believed in Him.
• Brothers tagged along

How does this effect me?
I want to be the Disciples —. Seeing/witnessing gracious abundance miracles, not just healing miracles. I want to believe in Jesus like the Disciples did.

This passage proves to me:
Jesus’ character of grace and blessing. His loving way he treated his mom. Says to me. God cares about the little things when we care about the little things.

This last part is my pondering through the Day part:
How does he protect me today?
