378.

Jeremiah's Trust in the LORD

1.

Today's Passage: Jeremiah 17:11-18

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

2.

Thank You for meeting me, LORD.
I welcome you into this place.
Please prepare my heart Jehovah.
Thank you for insight.

11. Like a partridge that hatches eggs she has not laid, so are those who get their wealth by unjust means. At midlife they will lose their riches; in the end, they will become poor old fools.
12. But we worship at your throne ⏤ eternal, high, and glorious!
13. O LORD, the hope of Israel, all who turn away from you will be disgraced. They will be buried in the dust of the earth, for they have abandoned the LORD, the fountain of living water.

14. O LORD, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone!
15. People scoff at me and say, "What is this 'message from the LORD' you talk about" Why don't your predictions come true?"

16. LORD, I have not abandoned my job as a shepherd for your people. I have not urged you to send disaster. You have heard everything I've said.
17. LORD, don't terrorize me! You alone are my hope in the day of disaster.
18. Bring shame and dismay on all who persecute me, but don't let me experience shame and dismay. Bring a day of terror on them. Yes, bring double destruction upon them!
Jeremiah 17:11-18 NLT

3.

15th strategy.
Imagine

  • Prepare your heart - that means ask Him to open you to be able to listen well.
  • Ask Jesus to bring you into the very presence of God Himself as you read instructions
  • Imagine the characters in this passage.
  • Are they facing a large enemy? or a challenge?
  • Have they followed God? or have they fled from His guidance?
  • Are they trusting God?
  • Are they experiencing pain, or loss?
  • Imagine them as friends.
  • What would you do if you were there beside them?
  • Would you be willing to encourage them?
  • What would you do if you were experiencing their story?
  • Who would you turn to for guidance? God? A mentor? Satan?
  • Ask God to show you how to lean on Him in times of attack, or challenge.
  • Thank God for His presence with you right now.

Abba.
Keep my eyes focused on you.
Please continue to bless my life. I have children and grand children that cause me to raise my hands in thanksgiving to you.
Don’t let me become so overwhelmed with surrounding voices that devalue me, take root in my spirit. I leave them with You. You know my heart.

Protect me, protect my heart, protect my loved ones and draw them to yourself.

Cleanse my heart so I can know how to pray for those that want to hurt me.
