496.

Hosea's Second Symbolic Marriage

1.

Today's Passage: Hosea 3:1-4

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

2.

Thank You for meeting me, LORD.
I welcome you into this place.
Please prepare my heart Jehovah.
Thank you for insight.

3.

5th strategy.
A simple strategy: Building Blocks

  • Begin by asking God to join you in building into your heart what He would want you to build.
  • Read the passage completely
  • Read the passage again. With the second reading pause after each phrase and think about the phrase. Take the phrase in slowly.
  • You might want to reread the phrase until the meaning, or importance of the phrase really sinks in.
  • After reading each phrase at least once, sometimes more. Go back and reread the entire passage.
  • Do you find that the passage builds phrase upon phrase in importance? Why? or Why not?
  • What phrase do you find most important in the passage?
  • Thank God for this phrase and commit it to memory today.
  • Don't forget to thank God for being here today with you.

1. Then the LORD said to me, "Go and love your wife again, even though she commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate that the LORD still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them."
2. So I bought her back for fifteen pieces of silver and five bushels of barley and a measure of wine.
3. Then I said to her, "You must live in my house for many days and stop your prostitution. During this time, you will not have sexual relations with anyone, not even with me."

4. This shows that Israel will go a long time without a king or prince, and without sacrifices, sacred pillars, priests, or even idols!
5. But afterward the people will return and devote themselves to the LORD their God and to David's descendant, their king. In the last days, they will tremble in awe of the LORD and of his goodness."
Hosea 3:1-4 NLT

Hosea tells me that God is faithful.
Even if I am not.
But it also shows me this:
My unfaithfulness will possibly extract a requirement from God.
I don’t feel it is punishment as much as a requirement.
I want to be honorable.
Life, when long, is hard.
Keep me fresh in my love for you dear LORD.
Fra ah with you until I die.
