Today's Passage: Luke 5:12-16

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

Thank You for meeting me, LORD.
I welcome you into this place.
Please prepare my heart Jehovah.
Thank you for insight.

30th Strategy.
Are Miracles Involved?

  • Enter your time with the LORD in prayer.
  • Read the entire passage.
  • If there is a miracle in the passage, stop and re-read it.
  • Continue through the entire passage.
  • After reading the passage through one time, go back and find  part describing the miracle in the passage.
  • Read two verses or more before the miracle of the passage.
  • Read two verses or more after the miracle of the passage.
  • In re-reading the verses surrounding the miracle of the passage, did you find a conflict occurring because of the miracle?
  • If you did, write down the conflict. What brings this conflict up. Is it due to people? People in power? People in darkness? People in anger? Ask God to allow you to ponder the reasons given for the conflict.
  • If you did not find conflict, ask yourself if you yourself would have been convinced by the miracle.
  • Do you see miracles and pass them by?
  • Ask God to broaden your vision for the miracles in your world.
  • Thank Him for His guidance and praise Him for His words.

12. In one of the villages, Jesus met a man with an advanced case of leprosy. When the man saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground, begging to be healed. "Lord," he said, "if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean."

13. Jesus reached out and touched him. "I am willing," he said. "Be healed!" And instantly the leprosy disappeared.
14. Then Jesus instructed him not to tell anyone what had happened. He said, "Go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy. This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed."

15. But despite Jesus' instructions, the report of his power spread even faster, and vast crowds came to hear him preach and to be healed of their diseases.
16. But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.
Luke 5:12-26 NLT

Jesus’ instructions were to go to synagogue and go through the cleansing rites to be declared publicly as clean. But don’t tell anyone about how this happened. Don’t tell people about Me.

We don’t know if someone saw the healing. Jesus would have had to go to a colony of leper’s or come across one outside the city. They weren’t allowed in the city itself????

Did the leper tell others? Did someone see the healing?

this morning as I lie flu-sick in this bed... I wonder??? Why? Did Jesus want the healing to speak for itself?

Since Jesus came for the healing of the whole world. And not our physical healing so much as our soul’s repair...
But caring so much for us in our diseased state He shows me here that He is willing to spread His healing hand beyond the soul and into the physical daily life.

Am I so bold as to ask for healing IF he is willing?
And leaving it there in total trust of His decision? Some healing He is willing to do. Some He is not.
Can I trust Him to do His Will?
Can I be bold enough to ask Him for the healing and trust?

Can I let the healing speak for itself. He doesn’t need me I need Him.
