74.

Together,
we are his house.

1. Today's Passage: Ephesians 2:19-22

Get to know your bible.

Or find the chapter NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or for your convenience I have typed the chapter below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

19. So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God's holy people
20. Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.
21. We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.
22. Through him you Gentiles are also being made part of this dwelling where God lives by his Spirit.
Ephesians 2:19-22 NLT

2.
Please go to Bible Gateway and read these 4 verses in
1. King James Version, translations.
2. New American Standard Version
3. Amplified Version

3.
Which one of the versions resonates in your spirit?
Who are the member's of God's family?
What does this mean to you?

4. Please comment with your thoughts in the comments below.
And also leave your name and your last initial.
It is such a joy to read that you have visited, read, and are growing in your days with Him.

Abba,
Please remind us that we come into your familly through Christ Jesus himself.
We are joined together.
We are a holy temple.
In your name Jehoshua, Go before us.
Amen.

I like the words "fitted together" in verse 21 in the other versions but one version didn't really stand out over the others to me.
...So I read a couple more until one did really strike me; the following is from The Message:

"... You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. ...

... Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. ..."

To me, "fitting you in brick by brick ..." is more hands-on, intricate, personal .....like "woven together" in Palms 139. Things can be 'joined/crammed' together without really 'fitting', but for things to 'fit' they have to be purposefully planned to do so.

I commented on this earlier this morning, but it did not get logged in.
Still needs work- argh!

But, I wrote this as soon as I read you post this morning, Cheryl.

Thank you for this insightful comment. I needed to hear this today.

I sometimes feel like things are not fitting. But when I recognize that Christ is the Cornerstone, and that He is the one fitting us together, I must step back and praise Him for His gathering, shaping and fitting us into His purposefully planned design.

My favorite part of this was in the NASB version:

We are saints of God's household - WOW!
Talk about a family.

And then these words:

Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

I find great comfort that it is God that is doing the building.
