Today's Passage: Exodus 36:1-7

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

Thank You for meeting us, LORD.
We welcome you into this place.

1. "The LORD has gifted Bezalel, Oholiab, and the other skilled craftsmen with wisdom and ability to perform any task involved in building the sanctuary. Let them construct and furnish the Tabernacle, just as the LORD has commanded."

2. So Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and all the others who were specially gifted by the LORD and were specially gifted by the LORD and were eager to get to work.
3. Moses gave them the materials donated by the people of Israel as sacred offerings for the completion of the sanctuary. But the people continued to bring additional gifts each morning.
4. Finally the craftsmen who were working on the sanctuary left their work.
5. They went to Moses and reported, "The people have given more than enough materials to complete the job the LORD has commanded us to do!"

6. So Moses gave the command, and this message was sent throughout the camp: "Men and women, don't prepare any more gifts for the sanctuary. We have enough!" So the people stopped bringing their sacred offerings.
7. Their contributions were more than enough to complete the whole project.
Exodus 36:1-7 NLT

2.

7th strategy.
Repetitive Reading

  • Begin by getting your heart ready to receive the words that God has laid down for us on this page. Ask Him to give you what you need to hear. Ask Him to give you the mind of Christ to be able to remember this strategy and continue it throughout the day.
  • Read the passage completely. Ask God to give you one verse that resonates in your heart today.
  • Write the verse down on a pad of paper, sticky note, or even on your phone in notes or your calendar.
  • Pray and ask God to give you a number of times to repeat this verse throughout the day. Write that number underneath the verse.
  • Or ask Him if it would be better for you to read and repeat the verse three times and then do that again later in the day. Asking how many times to have this little repetitive session and writing that down under the verse.
  • Every time you repeat the verse mark a tally under the verse.
  • Do this throughout the day. Try to reach your set goal or above it.
  • At the end of the day attempt to speak the verse without looking at it.
  • Before bed repeat the verse again either rereading it off of the paper, or quoting it from memory. Either is a glory to God.
  • And remember, God gleans great pleasure when you stop and thank Him for being with your throughout your day.

3.

Good morning.
Please take time to pray with the God of the Universe.
Sometimes, I am led to just step away from where you are with Him.

Enjoy HIM.

4.

Please leave your initials in the boxes below.
We are so excited about your being here.

Thank you.

And I will be back here tomorrow,
I hope I will see you here too.

The Land Yet to be Conquered

1.

Today's Passage: Joshua 13:1-23

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

Thank You for meeting us, LORD.
We welcome you into this place.

1.When Joshua was an old man, the LORD said to him,"You are growing old, and much land remains to be conquered.
2. This is the territory that remains: all the regions of the Philistines and the Geshurites,
3. and the larger territory of the Canaanites, extending from the stream of Shihor on the border of Egypt, northward to the boundary of Ekron. It includes the territory of the five Philistine rulers of Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron. The land of the Avites
4. in the south also remains to be conquered. In the north, the following area has not yet been conquered; all the land of the Canaanites, including Mearah (which belongs to the Sidolians), stretching northward to Aphek on the border of the Amorites.
5. the land of the Gebalites and all of the Lebanon mountain area to the east, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo-hamath;
6. and all the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephothmaim, including all the land of the Sidonians.

"I myself will drive these people out of the land ahead of the Israelites. So be sure to give this land to Israel as a special possession, just as I have commanded you.
7. Include all this territory as Israel's possession when you divide this land among the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh."

8. Half the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Reuben and Gad had already received their grants of land on the east side of the Jordan, for Moses, the servant of the LORD, had previously assigned this land to them.

9. Their territory extended from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Gorge (including the town in the middle of the gorge) to the plain beyond Medeba, as far as Dibon.
10. It also included all the towns of King Sihon of the Amorites, who had reigned in Heshbon, and extended as far as the borders of Ammon.
11. It included Gilead, the territory of the kingdoms of Geshur and Maacah, all of Mount Hermon, all of Bashan as far as Salecah,
12. and all the territory of King Og of Bashan, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei. King Og was the last of the Rephaites, for Moses had attacked them and driven them out.
13. But the Israelites failed to drive out the people of Geshur and Maacah, so they continue to live among the Israelites to this day.

14. Moses did not assign any allotment of land to the tribe of Levi. Instead, as the LORD had promised them, their allotment came from the offerings burned on the alter to the LORD, the God of Israel.

15. Moses had assigned the following area to the clans of the tribe of Reuben.

16. Their territory extended from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Gorge (including the town in the middle of the gorge) to the plain beyond Medeba.
17. It included Heshbon and the other towns on the plain ⏤Dibon, Bamoth-baal, Beth-baal-meon,
18. Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,
19. Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth-shahar on the hill above the valley,
20. Bethpeor, the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth.

21. The land of Reuben also included all the towns of the plain and the entire kingdom of Sihon. Sihon was the Amorite king who had reigned in Heshbon and was killed by Moses along with the leaders of Midian ⏤Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba ⏤princes living in the region who were allied with Sihon.
22. The Israelites has also killed Balaam son of Beor, who used magic to tell the future.
23. The Jordan River marked the western boundary for the tribe of Reuben. The towns and their surrounding villages in this area were given as a homeland to the clans of the tribe of Reuben.
Joshua 13:1-23 NLT

2.
16th strategy.
Repeating Sentences or Themes in the Text

  • Stop and pray.
  • Ask God to open your heart to hear what He is calling you to take away from your time together this day.
  • Take the time to read this passage one time.
  • Do you find that there are repeating sentences or themes in the text.
  • If so, underline each of the repetitions.
  • In the Bible we know that if thing are repeated they are done so for emphasis.
  • So, ponder the repetitions and ask God to reveal to you why he would have them repeat.
  • This might not come to you all at once. It might not even come to you today.
  • But, if you ask God to reveal this to you, He will give you an answer.
  • I have even waited as much as years for revelation. But oh when it has been revealed - celebration occurs.
  • Be sure to thank God for meeting with you today.

3.

Teach us to listen.
Not only in the instantaneous, but in those truths that take time to think about,
ponder, and dig for more information.
Thank You LORD.
Allow us to go deeper.
In your name, Jesus, we pray.
Amen.

4.

Please leave your initials.

I received an email recently from one of you.
It was such an encouragement.

Remember to leave your comments in the box.
God is moving in many ways here at Blue Moon.

I am still unable to put weight on my knee.
I appreciate you all.

Remember I am praying for each of you

And I will be back here tomorrow,
I hope I will see you here too.

God's Deliverance of His People

1.

Today's Passage: Habakkuk 3:1-19

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

Thank You for meeting us, LORD.
We welcome you into this place.

1. This prayer was sung by the prophet Habakkuk:
2. I have heard all about you, LORD, I am filled with awe by your amazing works. In this tie of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone by. And in your anger, remember your mercy.

3. I see God moving across the deserts from Edom, the Holy One coming from Mount Paran. His brilliant splendor fills the heavens, and the earth is filled with his praise.
4. His coming is as brilliant as the sunrise. Rays of light flash from his hands, where his awesome power is hidden.
5. Pestilence marches before him; plague follows close behind.
6. When he stops, the earth shakes. When he looks, the nations tremble. He shatters the everlasting mountains and levels the eternal hills. He is the Eternal One!
7. I see the people of Cushan in distress, and the nation of Midian trembling in terror.

8. Was it in anger, LORD, that you struck the rivers and parted the sea? Were you displeased with them? No, you were sending your chariots of salvation!
9. You brandished your bow and your quiver of arrows. You split open the earth with flowing rivers.
10. The mountains watched and trembled. Onward swept the raging waters. The mighty deep cried out, lifting its hands to the LORD.
11. The sun and the moon stood still in the sky as your brilliant arrows flew and your glittering spear flashed.

12. You marched across the land in anger and trampled the nations in your fury.
13. You went out to rescue your chosen people, to save your anointed ones. You crushed the heads of the wicked and stripped their bones from head to toe.
14. With his own weapons, you destroyed the chief of those who rushed out like a whirlwind, thinking Israel would be easy prey.
15. You trampled the sea with your horses, and the mighty waters piled high.
16. I trembled inside when I heard this; my lips quivered with fear. My legs gave way beneath me, and I shook in terror. I will wait quietly for the coming day when disaster will strike the people who invade us.
17. Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines, even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty,
18. yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
19. The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.
Habakkuk 3:1-19 NLT

2.

13th strategy.
Foreshadowing, Promises, and/or Fulfillment of Promises

  • Stop and pray.
  • Ask God to open your heart to hear what He is calling you to take away from your time together this day.
  • Take the time to reread this passage one time.
  • Can you find any foreshadowing of days to come?
  • Can you find any applications in your own life from the historical acts in this passage?
  • Can you find a charge given by God to honor certain happenings?
  • ... a promise made by God?
  • ...a promise fulfilled by God?
  • Meditate on one of these. Write it down in your journal for later reflection.
  • Thank God for His presence in your life right this moment.

3.

Thank you Abba.
Thankful for the promises I find in your words.
Thankful for your presence.
Thankful for your love.
In your name
Amen

4.

Please leave your initials and a comment.

Thank you for your presence.
I am still contemplating Romans 9.

247. The New Jerusalem

The New Heaven and Earth

1.

Today's Passage: Revelation 21:1-27

Good morning - its a long passage, I know. But you will be blessed in reading it.

Revelation 1:3 ⏤
"God blesses the one who reads the words of this prophecy to the church, and he blesses all who listen to its message and obey what it says, for the time is near.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

Thank You for meeting us, LORD.
We welcome you into this place.

1. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone.
2. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

3. I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying "Look, God's home is now among his people! He will live with them, and be with them.
4. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever."

5. And the one sitting on the throne said, "Look, I am making everything new!" And then he said to me, "Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true."
6. And he also said, "It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega ⏤the beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.
7. All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.

8. "But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars ⏤their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

9. Then one of the seven angels who held the seven bowls containing the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come with me! I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."

10. So he took me in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and he showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.
11. It shone with the glory of God and sparkled like a precious stone ⏤like jasper as clear as crystal.
12. The city wall was broad and high, with twelve gates guarded by twelve angels. And the names of the twelve tribes of Israel were written on the gates.
13. There were three gates on each side ⏤east, north, south, and west.
14. The wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were written on the gates.

15. The angel who talked to me held in his hand a gold measuring stick to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.
16. When he measured it, he found it was a square, as wide as it was long. In fact, its length and width and height were each 1,400 miles.
17. Then he measured the walls and found them to be 216 feet thick (according to the human standard used by the angel).

18. The wall was made of jasper, and the city was pure gold, as clear as glass.
19. The wall of the city was built on foundation stones inlaid with twelve precious stones: the first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald,
20. the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.

21. The twelve gates were made of pearls ⏤ each gate from a single pearl! And the main street was pure gold, as clear as glass.

22. I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
23. And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light.
24. The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the world will enter the city in all t heir glory.
25. Its gates will never be closed at the end of day because there is no night there.
26. And all the nations will bring their glory and honor into the city.
27. Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty ⏤ but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
Revelations 21:1-27 NLT

2.

8th strategy.
Choose three important verses
that speak to you today.

  • Begin by getting your heart ready to receive the words that God has laid down for us on this page. Ask Him to give you what you need to hear. Ask Him to give you the mind of Christ to be able to remember this strategy and continue it throughout the day.
  • Read the passage completely.
  • After reading the first time go back and chose the three most important verses that speak to you today.
  • Ask God to bring those verses back to you through out the day.
  • Find out if by the end of the day only one verse has been thought about more than the others.
  • Thank God for that verse.
  • This is a good strategy to use for long passages.
  • Be sure to stop and thank God for being here with you today.

3.

Thank You LORD,
You promise a blessing for reading Revelation.
We open our heart to wisdom, we open our heart to Your blessing.
Thank you.
In your name
Jesus
Amen.

4.

Please leave your initials and your comments.

This was a long passage.
It is a passage that comes with a promise of a blessing.
Anytime we read Revelations we need to wait in anticipation for blessing.
We never know when or how, but God's promises will be fulfilled.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you. Thank you.

Blessings on this endeavor.

And I will be back here tomorrow,
I hope I will see you here too.

Solicitude for Israel

1.

Today's Passage: Romans 9:1-16

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

Thank You for meeting us, LORD.
We welcome you into this place.

1. With Christ as my witness, I speak with utter truthfulness. My conscience and the Holy Spirit confirm it.
2. My heart is filled with bitter sorrow and unending grief
3. for my people, my Jewish brothers and sisters. I would be willing to be forever cursed ⏤cut off from Christ!⏤if that would save them.
4. They are the people of Israel, chosen to be God's adopted children. God revealed his glory to them. He made covenants with them and gave them his law. He gave them the privilege of worshiping him and receiving his wonderful promises.
5. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are their ancestors, and Christ himself was an Israelite as far as his human nature is concerned. And he is God, the one who rules over everything and is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.
6. Well then, has God failed to fulfill his promise to Israel! No, for not all who are born into the nation of Israel are truly members of God's people.
7. Being descendants of Abraham doesn't make them truly Abraham's children. For the Scriptures say, "Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted,"
8. This means that Abraham's physical descendants are not necessarily children of God. Only the children of the promise are considered to be Abraham's children.
9. For God had promised, "I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son."

10. This son was our ancestor Isaac. When he married Rebekah, she gave birth to twins.
11. But before they were born, before they had done anything good or bad, she received a message from God. (This message shows that God chooses people according to his own purposes;
12. he calls people, but not according to their good or bad works." She was told"Your older son will serve your younger son."
13. In the words of the Scriptures, "I loved Jacob, but I rejected Esau."

14. Are we saying, then, that God was unfair? Of course not!
15. For God said to Moses,

"I will show mercy to anyone I choose,
and I will show compassion to
anyone I choose."

16. So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.
Romans 9:1-16 NLT

I honestly had to re-read this passage 5 times. It is filled with thoughtful truth.

2.

20th Strategy.
Hard to get my Head around - so Repeat Reading Needed.

  • Open with  prayer.
  • Open your heart through silence for a few seconds.
  • Read the passage. Is it filled with difficult concepts?
  • Re-read the passage. Is it more clear?
  • Re-read the passage again. Pray for clarity.
  • Take each verse at a time and simply read it until it settles in your heart and mind.
  • Thank God for His clarity and His giving you the patience and desire to really understand the depth of His words.
  • Come to a close with gratitude to God who is over all.

3.

Before I knew You God, I didn't know how deeply I wanted to know You.
Now, when I read your words I deeply desire to understand what you are saying to me.
Help us LORD.
Help us desire daily to find You in our reading. Not for ourselves, not for what we want to see, but to better know You and how You are.
We will never understand completely.
You are too intricate and lovely for us to ever completely understand.
We praise You and worship You.
Help us LORD,
in Your name.
Jesus
Amen.

4.

Thank you for being here.
Keeping our commitment to be here is huge!
El Roi sees.

Be sure to leave your last initials.
and your thoughts if God encourages.

Have a blessed day.
And I will be back here tomorrow,
I hope I will see you here too.

Today's Passage: John 6:1-15

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

Thank You for meeting us, LORD.
We welcome you into this place.

1. After this, Jesus crossed over to the far side of the Sea of Galilee, also known as the Sea of Tiberias.
2. A huge crowd kept following him wherever he went, because they saw his miraculous signs as he healed the sick.
3. Then Jesus climbed a hill and sat down with his disciples around him.
4. (It was nearly time for the Jewish Passover celebration.)
5. Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, "Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?"
6. He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do.

7. Philip replied, "Even if we worked for months, we wouldn't have enough money to feed them!"

8. Then Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, spoke up.
9. "There's a young boy here with with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?"

10. "Tell everyone to sit down." Jesus said. So theyall sat down on the grassy slopes. (The men alone numbered about 5,000.)
11. Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people. And they all ate as much as they wanted.
12. After everyone was full, Jesus told his disciples, "Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted."
13. So they picked up the pieces and filled twelve baskets with scrps left by the people who had eaten from the five barley loaves.

14. When the people saw him do this miraculous sign, they exclaimed, "Surely, he is the Prophet we have been expecting!"
15. When Jesus saw that they were ready to force him to be their king, he slipped away into the hills by himself.
John 6:1-15 NLT

2.

WORSHIP Him.

  • Begin with asking God to open your heart to what He has for you to hear today.
  • Read the passage of the Scripture
  • Is a miracle in the passage? Is a relationship deepened in some way? Has God stepped in and shown His power,
  • His love, or even His protection of His end goal? Has Jesus, lived life, shown love, or taught?
  • Whatever the passage holds that brings you an awareness of who He is, praise Him for that revelation.
  • Give Him glory and honor and praise. Thank Him for what He has given.
  • Think on these things. Ponder them. Reread the passage. Write about what you read. Pray! This is Worship!
  • Thank God for His presence this moment.
3.

Prayer.
Invite God into the place where you are right now.
Thank Him for His revelations.
Ask Him for clarity during your day.

Be sure to thank Him for what He is doing in His life.
Gratitude
We cannot be destructive in any way when we are showing gratitude to God for who He is.

Remember that the word Amen means "So be it"
It is a concrete request that God grant what you have asked for in His name.

4.

I am praying about changes on how to operate our community in the future.
If you have any suggestions, please start thinking about them
I will be sending out emails making more requests for help.

I am down with a bum knee and have been down for weeks and weeks
and still have weeks to go. It is better some moments more than others.

I pray for you daily.

Have a blessed day.
And I will be back here tomorrow,
I hope I will see you here too.

1. The LORD gave Jeremiah the prophet this message concerning Babylon and the land of the Babylonians.
2. This is what the LORD says:
"Tell the whole world, and keep nothing back. Raise a signal flag to tell everyone that Babylon will fall! Her images and idols will be shattered. Her gods Bel and Marduk will be utterly disgraced.
3. For a nation will attack her from the north and bring such destruction that no one will live there again. Everything will be gone; both people and animals will flee.
4. In those coming days," says the LORD, "the people of Israel will return home together with the people of Judah. They will come weeping and seeking the LORD their God.
5. They will ask the way to Jerusalem and will start back home again. They will bind themselves to the LORD with an eternal covenant that will never be forgotten.

6. "My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray and turned them loose in the mountains. They have lost their way and can't remember how to get back to the sheepfold.
7. All who found them devoured them. Their enemies said, 'We did nothing wrong in attacking them, for they sinned against the LORD, their true place of rest, and the hope of their ancestors.'

8. "But now, flee from Babylon? Leave the land of the Babylonians. Like male goats at the head of the flock, lead my people home again.
9. For I am raising up an army of great nations from the north. They will join forces to attack Babylon, and she will be captured. The enemies' arrows will go straight to the mark; they will not miss!
10. Babylonia will be looted until the attackers are glutted with loot. I, the LORD, have spoken!
Jeremiah 50:1-10 NLT

19th strategy.
Asking Questions About the Passage and
How the Passage Changes Me.

  • Ask God to join you in your thoughtful questioning.
  • A message from the LORD through Jeremiah.
  • Who is sending the message and to whom?
  • Why?
  • When?
  • What will happen?
  • How will this effect the people involved?
  • How does this prophecy effect me?
  • What does this message prove about who God is?
  • Think about the protection of God for His people.
  • Think about the protection of God for you.
  • Pray. Don't forget to thank God for His revelations that might come later. But trust that they will come.

3.

Abba.
Here we are.
Revelations come piecemeal sometimes.
Please reveal to us how this passage relates to our days.
Thank you, we want to be in Your presence.
In your name we pray.
Jehoshua
Amen.

4.

Please leave your initials.

I hope I will see you here too.

Future Conversion of Gentiles

1.

Today's Passage: Isaiah45:14-25

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

Thank You for meeting us, LORD.
We welcome you into this place.

14. This is what the LORD says:
"You will rule the Egyptians, the Ethiopians, and the Sabeans. They will come to you with all their merchandise, and it will all be your. They will follow you as prisoners in chains. They will fall to their knees in front of you and say, 'God is with you and he is the only God. There is no other.'"

15. Truly, O God of Israel, our Savior, you work in mysterious ways.
16. All craftsmen who make idols will be humiliated. They will all be disgraced together.
17. But the LORD will save the people of Israel with eternal salvation. Throughout everlasting ages, they will never again be humiliated and disgraced.

18. For the LORD Is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. "I am the LORD," he says, "and there is no other.
19. I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found.
I, the LORD, speak only what is true and declare only what is right.

20. "Gather together and come, you fugitives from surrounding nations. What fools they are who carry around their wooden idols and pray to gods that cannot save!
21. Consult together, argue your case. Get together and decide what to say. Who made these things known so long ago? What idol ever told you they would happen? Was it not I, the LORD? For there is no other God but me, a righteous God and Savior. There is none but me.
22. Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other.
23. I have sworn by my own name; I have spoken the truth, and I will never go back on my word? Every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will confess allegiance to me.
24. The people will declare, "The LORD is the source of all my righteousness and strength. And all who were angry with him will come to him and be ashamed.
25. In the LORD all the generations of Israel will be justified, and in him they will boast.
Isaiah 45:14-25NLT

13th strategy.
Foreshadowing, Promises,
and/or Fulfillment of Promises

  • Stop and pray.
  • Ask God to open your heart to hear what He is calling you to take away from your time together this day.
  • Take the time to reread this passage one time.
  • Can you find any foreshadowing of days to come?
  • Can you find any applications in your own life from the historical acts in this passage?
  • Can you find a charge given by God to honor certain happenings?
  • ... a promise made by God?
  • ...a promise fulfilled by God?
  • Meditate on one of these. Write it down in your journal for later reflection.
  • Thank God for His presence in your life right this moment.

3.

You are here Abba,
We are in Your presence.
We are reminded that idols are a sad substitute to You, Jehovah.
We praise You and You alone.
In your name we pray
Amen.

4.

Please leave your initials and some kind of a comment - even if it is a .

Thank you.

Blessings on this endeavor.

And I will be back here tomorrow,
I hope I will see you here too.

God Uses Cyrus

1.

Today's Passage: Isaiah 45:1-13

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

Thank You for meeting us, LORD.
We welcome you into this place.

1. This is what the LORD says to Cyrus, his anointed one, whose right had he will empower. Before him, mighty kings will be paralyzed with fear. Their fortress gates will be opened, never to shut again.
1. This is what the LORD says:
"I will go before you, Cyrus, and level the mountains. I will smash down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.
3. And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness⏤secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.

4 "And why have I called you for this work? Why did I call you by name when you did not know me? It is for the sake of Jacob my servant, Israel my chosen one.
5. I am the LORD; there is no other God. I have equipped you for battle though you don't even know me,
6. so all the world from east to west will know there is no other God. I am LORD, and there is no other.
7. I create the light and make the darkness. I send good times and bad times. I, the LORD, am the one who does these things.

8. "Open up, O heavens, and pour out your righteousness. Let the earth open wide so salvation and righteousness can sprout up together. I, the LORD, created them.

9. "What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, 'Stop, you're doing it wrong!'
Does the pot exclaim, 'How clumsy can you be?'
10. How terrible it would be if a new baby said to its father, 'Why was I born?' or if it said to its mother, 'Why did you make me this way?"

11. This is what the LORD says⏤the Holy One of Israel and your Creator:
"Do you question what I do for my children?
Do you give me orders about the work of my hands?
12. I am the one who made the earth and created people to live on it.
With my hands I stretched out the heavens.
All the stars are at my command.
13. I will raise up Cyrus to fulfill my righteous purpose, and I will guide his actions.
He will restore my city and free my captive people⏤without seeking a reward!
I, the LORD of Heaven's Armies, have spoken!
Isaiah 45:1-13 NLT

Charges against an Unfaithful Wife

1.

Today's Passage: Hosea 2:1-13

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

Thank You for meeting us, LORD.
We welcome you into this place.

1. "In that day you will call your brothers Ammi ⏤'My people.' And you will call your sisters Ruhamah⏤ 'The ones I love.'
2. "But now bring charges against Israel ⏤our mother ⏤for she is no longer my wife, and I am no longer her husband. Tell her to remove the prostitutes' makeup from her face and the clothing that exposes her breasts.
3. Otherwise, I will strip her as naked as she was on the day she was born. I will leave her to die of thirst, as in a dry and barren wilderness.
4. And I will not love her children, for they were conceived in prostitution.
5. Their mother is shameless prostitute and became pregnant in shameful way.
She said, 'I'll run after other lovers and sell myself to them for food and water, for clothing of wool and linen, and for olive oil and drinks.'

6. "For this reason I will fence her in with thorn bushes. I will block her path with a wall to make her lose her way.
7. When she runs after her lovers, she wont be able to catch them. She will search for them but not find them. Then she will think, 'I might as well return to my husband, for I was better off with him than I am now.'
8. She doesn't realize it was I who gave her everything she has ⏤ the grain, the new wine, the olive oil; I even gave her silver and gold. But she gave all my gifts to Baal.

9. "But now I will take back the ripened grain and new wine I generously provided each harvest season. I will take away the wool and linen clothing I gave her to cover her nakedness.
10. I will strip her naked in public, while all her lovers look on. No one will be able to rescue her from my hands.
11. I will put an end to her annual festivals, her new moon celebrations, and her Sabbath days⏤all her appointed festivals.
12. I will destroy her grapevines and fig trees, things she claims her lovers gave her. I will let them grow into tangled thickets, where only wild animals will eat the fruit.
13. I will punish her for all those times when she burned incense to her images of Baal, when she put on her earrings and jewels and went out to look for her lovers but forgot all about me," says the LORD.
Hosea 2:1-13 NLT
