Today's Passage: Ecclesiastes 11:1-6

Get to know your bible. It will become a good friend.

Or find the passage NASB version on Bible Gateway here.
You can search for other versions there as well. Versions even in foreign languages.

Or, for your convenience I have typed the verses below from the
New Living Testament (NLT).

2.
Invite God to join you in your reading. Ask Him for wisdom.
If there is anything in your spirit hindering you, confess it now.
He knows it. You are forgiven.
Ask Him to help you embrace that truth to live it out.

a prayer:
Thank You for meeting me, LORD.

I welcome you into this place.
Please prepare my heart Jehovah.
Thank you, Omnipotent God for insight.

3.

26th Strategy.
Wisdom - The fear of Jehovah (the LORD) is the instruction for Wisdom: Proverbs 15:33

© RR&BC, LLC 2020
  • Bring your heart before the LORD and open up to Him. You may come boldly before the throne of God.
  • Ask Him to cleanse you heart and remove any resistance you might have to wisdom or understanding.
  • A wisdom passage can be hidden within other information.
  • There might be a nugget in a phrase, or a sentence.
  • Whole passages can also be wisdom passages. All of Proverbs for example.
  • Remove whatever word, phrase, sentence or section of the passage pulls on you heart.
  • Write it down.
  • Ponder on this as long as you need to.
  • Bring your time with LORD to gratitude and enter your day!

1. Send your grain across the seas, and in time, profits will flow back to you.
2. But divide your investments among many places, for you do not know what risks might lie ahead.

3. When clouds are heavy, the rains come down.
Whether a tree falls north or south, it satys where it falls.

4. Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant.
If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.

5. Just as you cannot understand the path of hte wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother's womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.

6. Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don't know if profit will come from one activity or another — or maybe both.
Ecclesiastes 11:1-6 NLT

3.

9th strategy.
Read and summarize each verse into as few
words as you can. Goal 1 or 2 words.

  • Begin by asking Jesus to cleanse your heart to hear what He has for you to hear.
  • Read the passage completely.
  • After reading through the first time, go back and read the first verse in the passage.
  • Then try to narrow the focus of the verse down to one or two words.
  • Write those words down either on a piece of paper, or on your text messages on your phone.
  • Read the 2nd verse and do the same thing.
  • Complete all the verses in the passage.
  • Sign and date the page in your journal, or send the text message to yourself.
  • Review these words throughout the day.
  • Thank Jesus for the words that He gave you to bring you closer to Him through this day.

5. There is another evil I have seen under the sun. Kings and rulers make a grave mistake
6. when they give great authority to foolish people and low positions to people of proven worth.
7. I have even seen servants riding horseback like princes — and princes walking like servants!

8. When you dig a well, you might fall in.
When you demolish an old wall, you could be bitten by a snake.

9.. When you work in a quarry,
stones might fall and crush you.
When you chop wood,
there is danger with each stroke of your ax.

10. Using a dull ax requires great strength, so sharpen the blade.
That's the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed.

11. If a snake bites before you charm it, what's the use of being a snake charmer?

12. Wise words bring approval, but fools are destroyed by their own words.

13. Fools base their thoughts on foolsh assumptions, so their conclusions will be wicked madness;
14. they chatter on and on.
No one really knows what is going to happen: no one can predict the future.

15. Fools ar so exhausted by a little work that they can't even find their way home.

16. What sorrow for the land ruled by a servant, the land whose leaders feast in the morning.
17. Happy is the land whose king is a noble leader and whose leaders feast at the proper time to gain strength for their work, not to get drunk.

18. Laziness leads to a sagging roof; idleness leads to a leaky house.

19. A party gives laughter, wine gives happiness, and money gives everything!

20. Never make light of the king, even in your thoughts.
And don't make fun of the powerful, even in your own bedroom.
For a little bird might deliver your message and tell them what you said.

Ecclesiastes 10:5-20 NLT

2. A wise person chooses the right road; a fool takes the wrong one.

3. You can identify fools just by the way they walk down the street!

4. If your boss is angry at you, don't quit! A quiet spirit can overcome even great mistakes.

31st Strategy.
A Verse of Treasure

© RR&BC, LLC 2020
1. Enter your time with the LORD in prayer.
2. Ask Him to give your heart what you need.
3. Read the verse or few verses you have set before you.
4. Ask Him to bring you what He wants to share with you.
5. Thank Him for His guidance.

13. Here is another bit of wisdom that has impressed me as I have watched the way our world works.
14. There was a small town with only a few people, and a great king came with his army and besieged it.
15. A poor, wise man knew how to save the town, and so it was rescued. But afterward no one thought to thank him.
16. So even though wisdom is better than strength, those who are wise will be despised if they are poor. What they say will not be appreciated for long.

17. Better to hear the quiet words of a wise person than the shouts of a  foolish king.
18. Better to have wisdom than weapons of war, but one sinner can destroy much that is good.
Ecclesiastes 9: 13-18 NLT

  • Bring your time with LORD to gratitude and enter your day!

1. This, too, I carefully explored: Even though the actions of godly and wise people are in God's hands, no one knows whether God will show them favor.
2. The same destiny ultimately awaits everyone, whether righteous or wicked, good or bad, ceremonially clean or unclean, religious or irreligious. Good people receive the same treatment as sinners, and people who make promises to God are treated like people who don't.

3. It seems so tragic that everyone under the sun suffers the same fate. That is why people are not more careful to be good. Instead, they choose their own mad course, for they have no hope. There is nothing ahead but death anyway.
4. There is hope only for the living. As they say, "It's better to be a live dog than a dead lion!"

5. The living at least know they will die, but the dead know nothing. They have no further reward, nor are they remembered.
6. Whatever they did in their lifetime — loving, hating envying — is all long gone. They no longer play a part in anything here on earth.
7. So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!
8. Wear fine clothes, with a splash of cologne!

9. Live happily with the woman you love through all the meaningless days of life that God has given you under the sun. The wife God gives you is your reward for all your earthly toil.
10. Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom.

11. I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn't always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn't always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don't always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.

12. People can never predict when hard times might come. Like fish in a net or birds in a trap, people are caught by sudden tragedy.
Ecclesiastes 9:1-12 NLT

3.

32nd Strategy.
Yahweh Tests

© RR&BC, LLC 2020

1. Stop, close out the world, pray for God to show Himself.
2. Often humanity flails against God and His ways.
3. Is there disobedience in the scripture that shows our faulty ways.
4. Is God preparing for a harder time?
5. Do the verses remind you to be strong and obey?
6. How can these verses help you in the world we live in?
7. Thank God for His presence.

9, I have thought deeply about all that goes on here under the sun, where people have the power to hurt each other.
10. I have seen wicked people buried with honor. Yet they were the very ones who frequented the Temple and are now praised in the same city where they committed their crimes! This, too, is meaningless.
11. When a crime is not punished quickly, people feel it is safe to do wrong.
12. But even though a person sins a hundred times and still lives a long time, I know that those who fear God will be better off.
13. The wicked will not prosper, for they do not fear God. Their days will never grow long like the evening shadows.

14. And this is not all that is meaningless in our world. In this life, good people are often treated as though they were wicked, and wicked people are often treated as though they were good. This is so meaningless!

15. So I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work God gives them under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 8:9-17 NLT

1. How wonderful to be wise, to analyze and interpret things.
Wisdom lights up a person's face, softening its harshness.

2. Obey the king since you vowed to God that you would.
3. Don't try to avoid doing your duty, and dont stand with those who plot evil, for the king can do whatever he wants.
4. His command is backed by great power. No one can resist or question it.
5. Those who obey him will not be punished. Those who are wise will find a time and a way to do what is right,
6. for there is a time and a way for everything, even when a person is in trouble.

7. Indeed, how can people avoid what they don't know is going to happen?
8. None of us can hold back our spirit from departing.  None of us has the power to prevent the day of our death. There is no escaping that obligation, that dark battle. And in face of death, wickedness will certainly not rescue the wicked.

3.

8th strategy.
Choose three important verses that speak to you today.

© RR&BC, LLC 2020

  • Begin by getting your heart ready to receive the words that God has laid down for us on this page. Ask Him to give you what you need to hear. Ask Him to give you the mind of Christ to be able to remember this strategy and continue it throughout the day.
  • Read the passage completely.
  • After reading the first time go back and chose the three most important verses that speak to you today.
  • Ask God to bring those verses back to you through out the day.
  • Find out if by the end of the day only one verse has been thought about more than the others.
  • Thank God for that verse.
  • This is a good strategy to use for long passages.
  • Be sure to stop and thank God for being here with you today.

15. I have seen everything in this meaningless life, including the death of good young people and the long life of wicked people.
16. So don't be too good or too wise! Why destroy yourself?
17. On the other hand, don't be too wicked either. Don't be a fool! Why die before your time?
18. Pay attention to these instructions, for anyone who fears God will avoid both extremes.

19. One wise person is stronger than ten leading citizens of a town!

20. Not a single person on earth is always good and never sins.

21. Don't eavesdrop on others — you may hear your servant curse you.
22. For you know how often you yourself have cursed others.

23. I have always tried my best to let wisdom guide my thoughts and actions. I said to myelf, "I am determined to be wise." But it didn't work.
24. Wisdom is always distant and difficult to find.
25. I searched everywhere, determined to find wisdom and to understand the reason for things. I was determined to prove myself that wickedness is stupid and that foolishness is madness.

26. I discovered that a seductive woman is a trap more bitter than death. Her passion is a snare, and her soft hands are chains. Those who are pleasing to God will escape her, but sinners will be caught in her snare.

27. "This is my conclusion," says the Teacher. "I discovered this after looking at the matter from every possible angle.
28. Though I have searched repeatedly I have not found what I was looking for. Only one out of a thousand men is virtuous, but not one woman!

29. But I did find this: God created people to be virtuous, but they have each turned to follow their own downward path."
Ecclesiastes 7:15-29 NLT

3.

7th strategy.
Repetitive Reading

© RR&BC, LLC 2020

  • Begin by getting your heart ready to receive the words that God has laid down for us on this page. Ask Him to give you what you need to hear. Ask Him to give you the mind of Christ to be able to remember this strategy and continue it throughout the day.
  • Read the passage completely. Ask God to give you one verse that resonates in your heart today.
  • Write the verse down on a pad of paper, sticky note, or even on your phone in notes or your calendar.
  • Pray and ask God to give you a number of times to repeat this verse throughout the day. Write that number underneath the verse.
  • Or ask Him if it would be better for you to read and repeat the verse three times and then do that again later in the day. Asking how many times to have this little repetitive session and writing that down under the verse.
  • Every time you repeat the verse mark a tally under the verse.
  • Do this throughout the day. Try to reach your set goal or above it.
  • At the end of the day attempt to speak the verse without looking at it.
  • Before bed repeat the verse again either rereading it off of the paper, or quoting it from memory. Either is a glory to God.
  • And remember, God gleans great pleasure when you stop and thank Him for being with your throughout your day.

1. A good reputation is more valuable than costly perfume.
And the day you die is better than the day you are born.

2. Better to spend your time at funerals than at parties.
After all, everyone dies — so the living should take this to heart.

3. Sorrow is better than laughter, for sadness has a refining influence on us.

4. A wise person thinks a lot about death, while a fool thinks only about having a good time.

5. Better to be criticized by a wise person than to be praised by a fool.

6. A fool's laughter is quickly gone, like thorns crackling in a fire. This also is meaningless.

7. Extortion turns wise people into fools, and bribes corrupt the heart.

8. Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride.

9. Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool.

10. Don't long for  "the good old days." This is not wise.

11. Wisdom is even better when you have money. Both are a benefit as you go through life.

12. Wisdom and money can get you almost anything, but only wisdom can save your life.

13. Accept the way God does things, for who can straighten what he has made crooked?

14. Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life.

Ecclesiastes 7:1-14 NLT

1417.

The Future

Today's Passage: Ecclesiastes 6:10-12

10. Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there's no use arguing with God about your destiny.

11. The more words you speak, the less they mean. So what good are they?

12. In a few days of our meaningless lives, who knows how our days can best be spent? Our lives are like a shadow. Who can tell what will happen on this earth after we are gone?

Ecclesiastes 6:10-12 NLT
